Bottled Water Award Winners Announced At 2010 IBWA Convention and Trade Show

Orlando, Fla. – The International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) announced its 2010 Award recipients for Route Salesperson of the Year during the 2010 IBWA Convention and Trade Show in Orlando, Florida, held in conjunction with InterBev. InterBev is jointly produced by IBWA and the American Beverage Association (ABA.)

“These awards recognize excellence within the bottled water industry and the IBWA membership,” said IBWA President Joe Doss. “As ambassadors of the bottled water industry, our route salespeople are on the front lines of customer service, and –through them – we have direct contact and connection with our customers.”
IBWA 2010 Route Salespersons of the Year include:

Level III Category (with sales between $2.1 and $8 million)

Our Route Salesperson of the Year from a company with sales between $2.1 million and $8 million is Troy Baker, from Culligan Bottled Water in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.

While exceeding sales and service standards in the HOD industry and winning monthly sales contests, Troy’s devotion to his job is balanced by an unwavering commitment to his family: wife, Becky, and his two young children, Emily and Cody.

Still smiling after 13 years of dependable Route Salesmanship, Troy out sold and out delivered his peers in a tough economy while role-modeling another of his many accident-free years.

Troy lives by the motto, T.C.O.B. —or “Taking Care of Business”…a talent he demonstrates not only by the sheer numbers he puts on the board, but by his genuine passion for customer service.

Level IV Category (sales over $8.1 million)

Our route salesperson of the year from a company with sales over $8.1 million is Christian Dimitri of DS Waters’ Kentwood Springs plant in New Orleans.

With 76 stops and delivering an amazing 360 units a day on average, Christian sets out early because he likes to spend time at each stop to ensure his customers are well taken care.

Christian placed in the top 5 in every regional contest and sales promotion, and he directly solicited an incredible 170 new customers on his route in 2009. Christian provides excellent customer service by displaying real-life examples of courtesy, commitment, dedication, and motivation. He lives the values of DS Waters every day, proving that when it comes to exceeding the customer’s expectations, simply put, He Delivers!

Please contact IBWA if you would like additional information and/or photos of the winners.

The International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) is the authoritative source of information about all types of bottled waters, including spring, mineral, purified, artesian, and sparkling. Founded in 1958, IBWA’s membership includes U.S. and international bottlers, distributors and suppliers. IBWA is committed to working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which regulates bottled water as a packaged food product, to set comprehensive and stringent standards for safe, high-quality bottled water products.

In addition to FDA regulations, IBWA member bottlers must adhere to the IBWA Bottled Water Code of Practice, which mandates additional standards and practices that in some cases are more stringent than federal and state regulations. A key feature of the IBWA Bottled Water Code of Practice is a mandatory annual plant inspection by an independent, third-party organization.

IBWA is proud to be a partner with Keep America Beautiful and a supporter of Drink Up, an initiative of former First Lady Michelle Obama and the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA), which encourages Americans to drink more water more often – whether from the tap, a filter, or in a bottle. Choosing water is always the healthy choice.
