International Bottled Water Association | NEWS RELEASE | November 8, 2024
Alexandria, VA – The International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) inducted New Jersey businessman Daniel Kelly into the IBWA Bottled Water Hall of Fame during the association’s Annual Business Meeting on November 6 in Chicago.
Mr. Kelly has owned Polymer Solutions International (PSI), a leading global supplier of reusable material handling products serving diverse industries including food and beverage, pharmaceutical, industrial, and retail, for more than 30 years. His company specializes in engineering and manufacturing sustainable and innovative solutions for a variety of applications that improve supply chains, reduce costs, and protect products.
“Dan is a true visionary, problem solver, listener, and leader, who has a desire to assist in any situation,” said Steve Kurth, a colleague of Mr. Kelly for nearly 30 years, speaking at the award ceremony.
“His passionate dedication to the bottled water industry includes many years supporting IBWA, and we always knew this day would be yours and so did the rest of this great industry.”
“During the past 30+ years, Dan has made many significant contributions to IBWA, the bottled water industry, and his community. Dan has been a very active member of IBWA for many years. He currently serves on the Executive Committee, the Board of Directors, and is co-chair of the Supplier and Convention Committee. Dan has also volunteered to participate in numerous IBWA working groups and task forces. He is also a dedicated supporter of the Drinking Water Research Foundation (DWRF).
“As a supplier company member, Dan mentors new supplier members to help them become active in all association activities” (e.g., joining committees and participating in the IBWA trade show).
“In addition to his generous support of IBWA and the bottled water industry, Dan has also devoted a significant amount of his time and resources to several community and charitable activities. This includes helping a local school send inner-city children to summer camp, sponsoring a special week for blind children to attend a YMCA camp, and contributing to Ronald McDonald Houses that provide care to seriously ill children, the American Red Cross, and the South New Jersey Food Bank. During the COVID pandemic, Dan’s company donated 4,200 face shields to the New Jersey Nurses Union,” the nominating committee said of Mr. Kelly.
Most recently Mr. Kelly donated two truckloads of water to Asheville NC to help after Hurricane Helen. His company is also major sponsors of Medford, NJ fireworks and Halloween parade.
IBWA has inducted 43 members into its Bottled Water Hall of Fame. The individuals in this exclusive group have gone above and beyond the call of duty, demonstrating their devotion, creativity, and love for the bottled water industry during their careers. Their association with the industry and civic and charitable activities also exceed those of the average businessperson. Hall of Fame inductees are those who have earned the respect and admiration of their peers for their extraordinary service to the bottled water industry.

The International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) is the authoritative source of information about all types of bottled waters, including spring, mineral, purified, artesian, and sparkling. Founded in 1958, IBWA’s membership includes U.S. and international bottlers, distributors and suppliers. IBWA is committed to working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which regulates bottled water as a packaged food product, to set comprehensive and stringent standards for safe, high-quality bottled water products.
In addition to FDA regulations, IBWA member bottlers must adhere to the IBWA Bottled Water Code of Practice, which mandates additional standards and practices that in some cases are more stringent than federal and state regulations. A key feature of the IBWA Bottled Water Code of Practice is a mandatory annual plant inspection by an independent, third-party organization.
