Dear IBWA Member:
At IBWA, our committees play a key role in formulating the policies and decisions that impact the association and the bottled water industry. With assistance from association staff, IBWA committees plan and help establish policy, and perform activities in support of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Committee membership and active participation is the best way for you and your company to be involved in setting the direction of the association and our industry. The valuable knowledge and business contacts you will acquire will make your commitment in time and resources very worthwhile.
I would like to invite you, and/or someone from your company, to serve on an IBWA committee for 2016-2017. When you volunteer for committee service, you are making a commitment of your time, talent, and financial resources. As with all IBWA volunteer leaders, committee members pay their own travel expenses to attend meetings. IBWA committees meet in-person two times a year, and participation may also include task force meetings (usually held during the in-person committee and Board meetings) and conference calls. Your regular attendance is imperative to enhance the effectiveness of the committee (s) and may play a role in your selection to serve on a committee in subsequent years.
The following are dates for the 2017 committee meetings:
- February 2017, Via conference call (Meetings dates and times TBD)
- June 5-8, 2017, Hilton Old Town Alexandria (Meetings begin at 3:00 pm Monday 06/05/17)
- November 6-9, 2017 Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center, Grapevine, Texas (Meetings begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 6)
New committee members are invited to attend the last meeting(s) of 2015-2016 for the current committees, to be held November 7 – 11, 2016, during the 2016 IBWA Annual Business Conference in Nashville, Tennessee.
Below is a link to the committee descriptions and a sign up form. Once you have made the important decision to attend and perform all functions of a committee member, select the committee(s) that interests you. If selecting more than one committee, please indicate the committee that is your first choice for service, as well as your second and third choices.
IMPORTANT: Existing committee members must reapply to continue serving. No automatic reappointments will be made!
Completed forms must be returned no later than Monday, October 31 to allow the chairpersons to begin selecting their committees prior to the November 2016 meetings.
